3,67,851 construction workers in the state

Mumbai : The Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board has completed the registration of nearly one and a half lakh construction workers in a total of 40 days under special registration campaign. In particular, in the first phase, the Savvadon Million Construction Workers were registered under the special registration campaign for the 40 days.

The e-launch of this special enrollment campaign was made some days back in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Labor Minister, Sambhaji Patil-Nilangekar, at the residence of the Chief Minister. Under this campaign 28 schemes can be availed by the workers. The first special registration campaign starts 40 days. The duration of the second special enrollment campaign was 40 days. Under the special enrollment campaign, in the first phase, the completion of 2 lakh 24 thousand 577 construction workers was completed in 40 days. Most of the construction workers were registered in Mumbai division in six revenue departments, while the lowest workers were registered in Nashik division.

In the second phase, a special registration campaign was organized for the month of July 4, 2018 to 4 August 2018. The campaign was extended for 10 days and on August 14, 2018, the registration of 1 lakh 43 thousand 274 construction workers was completed. Specifically, in the first phase, special registration campaigns were implemented in the second phase of districts where special registration campaigns were not implemented. Most of the workers were registered in Yavatmal district and the lowest registration was in Washim district.
