Fake YouTube Channel “Mirror Chhattisgarh” and Its Owner Accused of Threats, Abuse, and Provocative Remarks

Raipur: The controversy surrounding the YouTube channel “Mirror Chhattisgarh” intensified this week after prominent Hindu organizations and the Sant Samaj of Raipur lodged an official complaint against its operator, Rocky the Boxer, and his associate, YouTuber Soma Dewangan. The channel, which has gained traction for its provocative and controversial content, is now at the center of serious allegations involving threats, abuse, and promotion of communal discord.

According to the complaint submitted to the Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Rocky the Boxer—who reportedly refers to himself as “Pathan”—has been accused of hurling obscene abuses and issuing death threats to a gau rakshak (cow protector). In one alleged instance, he threatened, “If anyone talks about my religion, I will tear them apart.” The memo submitted by the Hindu organizations alleges that both Rocky the Boxer and his female colleague, Soma Dewangan, have been actively spreading venomous narratives against Hindus through their channel.

The complaint further points out that “Mirror Chhattisgarh” is not a registered media institution. Neither the channel nor its primary faces, Rocky the Boxer and Soma Dewangan, possess any journalism degree, government-recognized press ID, or official media accreditation. Despite these shortcomings, the duo continues to masquerade as journalists, allegedly misleading the public and inciting disharmony within the community.

Disturbed by the purported activities of the channel, the Sant Samaj and other Hindu groups have called upon the police administration to take immediate legal action. Their memorandum demands that a First Information Report (FIR) be registered promptly against both individuals, with strictest possible action to follow. The organizations further warned that if swift action isn’t taken, they are prepared to launch a large-scale movement in protest.

The case highlights growing concerns around unregulated digital media and the rise of self-styled journalists who, despite lacking credentials, command large audiences and wield significant influence over public opinion. The administration has yet to issue a statement on the matter or detail any immediate steps to be taken.
This report will be updated as soon as further developments arise in this ongoing case.
